Intro

1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-3

16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, John 14:16

Recognizing God’s Voice

4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

For they are a rebellious people, lying children, children unwilling to hear the instruction of the Lord; Isaiah 30:9 ESV

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; James 1:19 ESV
