Control is often the problem. Dependency is at the core of walking with Jesus. When God moves, you fall forward because you are leaning on Him so fully.

The Parable of the Hidden Treasure

44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Mathew 13:44 ESV

Jesus Calls the First Disciples

16 Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed him. Mark 1:16-18 ESV

Jesus likes to invade our routines.

“God, give me a revelation of who You are, more than I want to know anything else.”

Trust and Obey

The Healing at the Pool on the Sabbath

1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic called Bethesda, which has five roofed colonnades. 3 In these lay a multitude of invalids—blind, lame, and paralyzed. 5 One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” 7 The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” 8 Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” 9 And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. John 5:1-9 ESV

Jesus wants to surprise you! 🎉

Grace Beyond Expectation. God does more than we think we deserve.

5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 ESV

Stay connected 24/7. Why worry about your fruit? Just stay connected to Jesus. You have no other choice anyway.

5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 We know that our old self[a] was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.  Romans 6:5-6 ESV

Everything fades away in the light of God’s glory and beauty. What do babies do to get a smile from their parents? They move their face muscles, offering even the smallest smile, and it brings immense joy to their parents.

How can we keep the childlike heart?

If your analysis does not bring peace and joy, shut it off. It kills your fascination with God. Keep running in trust toward Him. You cannot enter the Kingdom of God unless you come like a child. Run to God like a kid.

Priorities

How do we include God in everything and walk with Jesus in every part of life? It is not about a binary list of holy and non-holy things. Whether you are grocery shopping, paying bills, or going to the gym, invite Jesus into whatever you are doing and have fun with Him.

The most spiritual thing you can do is whatever you do in the next five minutes.

Simply put, walking with Jesus is a series of invitations.
