THE WAY OF INTIMACY PT 1: GOD’S INTIMACY

Everything starts with The God Community

• In The God Community, The Three Persons have never __________ without __________ and have never __________ without __________.

  • Each Person in the God-Community has never given to receive; each Person is eternally fulfilled in the love each receives from the Other Two.

  • In the same way, we can now be fulfilled in God The Perfect Giver, so that we can give without expecting to receive.

    This is the basis of grace.

    Worship not to get God’s Presence, but because we already have God’s Presence.

    We need to rest in our need to ____________________.

    Application: If we are receiving, then we will live a lifestyle of ____________________, ____________________, ____________________.

What is ‘intimacy’?

Relationships in which you feel ____________________, ____________________, and ____________________.

But how do we get there?

How does God transform us into John 17:21 intimacy?

• John 17:21: “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
• Ezekiel 36:26–27: “And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.” (Also, Jeremiah 31:33–34)

How does God write His commands on our hearts?

When you admitted 100% helplessness_ and 100% surrendered to God, the power of sin, rooted in independence, was broken.

• We surrender to God by committing to Christ!
• We surrender to God by accepting His terms: “Honor My Son by fully accepting His sacrifice.”

But when we completely surrender to God by completely committing to Christ, God through His Holy Spirit does an amazing thing! He puts us in Christ__ (Ephesians 1:3)
