“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” -A.W.Tozer
“If we want to know how our kingdom look like, we have to know how our King looks like.” -SP
It is easy to put God into a small box or see Him through broken lenses. This shows the limitation of our humanity, where we understand God through the filter of our own experiences and background. For example, if your biological father was overly passive, then when you hear the language “Our Father” in church, you may place that same lens on God without realizing it.
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.
We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
2 Cor 10:3-5 ESV
It is God’s desire to restore our views about Him.
Complete and whole picture.
As Jesus and his disciples went on their way, he entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house.
And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching.
But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”
But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things,
but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:38-41
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4
